The Diverse Youth Advisory Council is a youth leadership initiative. Our council is made up of youth living in Toronto’s 13 priority neighbourhoods. Our DEFY initiative uses recreation as a means of getting youth: engaged and mobilized in civic participation; involved health and wellness promotion; created experiential learning opportunities for “marginalized” youth and recognize the needs of youth.
